I dunno if it’s like this everywhere, but in my freshman year of college I didn’t get a choice of where to live. The best housing options were in high demand, and upperclassmen had first dibs. So I was just assigned a dorm room and that was that.
Speaking of Star Wars, Jbwarner86 will you be having strips about the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions when you get to the 1997 strips? And will you also be having strips about “Episode I: The Phantom Menace” when you get to the 1999 strips (I know that’s when this strip ends).
Best part for me when I lived in on campus housing for 3 years after commuting to a community college for two years was my favorite pub was just a 5 minute walk away. Had to do my drinking there since my roommates were underaged and I couldn’t store my drinks in the dorms because of it. Plus, my brother lived in an on campus house with some of his buddies for a few years when he was in university.

I never had dorms when I went to college, as I couldn’t afford them. I was lucky that my apartment was just down the street from the school.
