@Melgone: I suppose you could say that there was a lot of wasted potential that Jesse J. Barboza didn’t consider playing around with? But I’m sure that he has his own intentions?

On the one hand, this ending was deserved.

On the other, the story leading up to this felt rushed to all hell, and had several missed opportunities in terms of both characters and plot. I feel the story needed two more weeks, and some heavy alterations to some of the characters. To wit:

The Neo-Nazis, they’re really only shown once and never brought up again until the downfall moment. I feel this would be better fixed by Ronald actually meeting them in person (say desertstormer and his buddies are from the next town over), and they more overtly start corrupting the already screwed up mind Ronald has, and even show up as his “bodyguards” at the inauguration.

How Ronald even got to have that mindset to begin with, what was his life before meeting Phyllis? Was he always a piece of shit as a big fuck you to his parents? Was it due to an accident making him “born again”, did Phyl and Vicky’s parents corrupt him? I feel that would have helped get an idea for his actions too.

And obviously Phyl’s redemption arc should have been an actual thing.

I’m still thinking that Phyllis will, EVENTUALLY, get better, and that sometime in the aughts or 2010s or so, her and Jos will get along better. Maybe being in prison will be okay, especially since she will be forcibly separated from her husband long enough to actually get deprogrammed.

Dammit, Lars! Another moment or two and they would have started making out!

@MattTEHMan1991 Phyllis? Not really. Ronald? Abso-frigga-lutely.

@Thom Revor: Yeah, I feel she should at least be sent to a mental hospital instead of prison. The punishment doesn’t fit the crime with her.

Funny, I thought Jocelyn’s first stop would be the local hair stylist to have her pink and purple locks restored – but I’ll assume she’s checking out dyes in Panel 1. 😊

Jocelyn often wished that Phyllis and Ronald would actually love her unconditionally…But I think they deserved their punishment…Don’t you?

One problem is that Phyllis wouldn’t have been convicted. It’s obvious she is non compos mentis and would have been rules “Not guilty be reason of Insanity,” since she is as much of a victim as Jocelyn is.

I really liked this ending. For all of Jocelyn’s sarcasm and tough faces she’s made over the years with Ron and Phyllis, it’s still important to remember at the end of the day, she was still sad in the fact that she had parents who never accepted her for who she was, which could make anyone hurt.

But it’s also great to see that she’s finally getting the unconditional love and comfort that she deserves from her aunt, and maybe have a new family with her and Lars. Now she doesn’t have to hide , she can just be herself!

Anyways, now that we’re done with Ronny Boy, we can FINALLY get to celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of the greatest animated, nay, FILMS of all-time!

Time to go to infinity and beyond…

Jocelyn has finally been able to close a chapter of her life. And now, the road to graduation day is the beginning of a new one.

For a second there, I thought Jocelyn was checking a cell phone.

    Also, quite a sweet ending.
This isn’t a bad look for Jocelyn, though she does look like a different character all together with that hairstyle and that outfit.

After everything that happened, Jocelyn has finally got her happy ending. She will definitely need therapy to come to terms with everything she’s been through in the duration of her life, but she has a great group of friends, a wonderful boyfriend, and she now has supportive and caring parental figures in the form of Vicky and Lars. This is a fantastic arc and one of your best storylines, JB. Keep up the wonderful work.

By the way, well done on using the title of a VERY short-lived network animated series for the story name…even though the series was 5 years away in this timeline.

The cancer has been excised. Here’s to some long-deserved at-home happiness for Jocelyn.

Awww, what a heartwarming way to end the story arc. Ronald’s in jail where he belongs, Jocelyn finally has the supportive and loving parental figures she deserves, and all is right with the world.

I like how this shows that all Jocelyn wanted was for her parents to love her, indicating that she was hoping, deep down inside, that they could somehow change their ways and make an effort to be an actually normal family.

And, though I’m DEFINITELY not gonna hold my breathe at this point, but I’d like to see this as potential foreshadowing to Phyllis doing exactly that in the distant future.

And finally it’s over. Jocelyn is free at last. This was one hell of a storyline. Great way to resolve all of that shit before the end of the year.
