@Pat Did it ever occur to you that maybe that was a typo on Jbwarner’s part? Just accept that we’ll never have to see Ronald and Phyllis again, dude.

@MattTEHMan1991 no. The case was dismissed. According to the final statement by the judge. If they were convicted, they would have been remanded to the state correctional system. The final statement by the judge in carrying out his orders where both Ronald and Phyllis would be incarcerated and Jocelyn placed in her aunts car would be, “THIS HEARING IS ADJOURNED.”

Phyllis is like how Harley quinn used to be blindly devoted to Joker. Difference is, Harley actually got over his gaslighting crap!!

Joke’s on you, Ronald! Jocelyn won’t be able to leave the house in 2020 anyway!

Say what you will about the verdict, but Phyllis is guilty of gross child neglect.

@Pat: Apparently, you didn’t pay attention to the second panel, which clearly states that both Ronald & Phyllis are sentenced to 25 years in prison.

There is one HUGE PROBLEM. According to the judges statement in panel three, neither Ronald and Phyllis are going to jail. The judge dismissed the charges.

Did NOT expect Phyllis to go super crazy without her man there to literally order her around like a slave. Hopefully she’ll get some therapy while in prison, an early parole, and get a better relationship with her daughter by 2010.

So I take it we’ll never get an answer as to Ronald and Phyllis’s insanity? I feel this is a missed oppertunity to have her and Vicky’s parents appear and show that they’re just as horrible as Ronald and he cozied up to them.

And what about those Neo-Nazis? Are they just going to get off scot-free? Did we just forget about them, or are they just throwing Ronnie under the bus as a means to get lesser sentences.

This whole arc feels like it needed more time in the oven or at least a little longer to answer everything. Because getting no answer to Ronald’s insanity or a satisfying conclusion to his government-usurping buddies feels like a massive copout.

So…what happens to the Stafford house? On the auction block? Still in Ron’s greedy hands? Given to Vicky?

Hey, SOMEBODY has to think about the little details, right?

Well at least Ronald is getting what he deserves! To bad about Phylis’s, maybe she will get out a bit earlier due to a good and sturdy recovery or so.

The sad part is, I’m not sure if Ronald’s parting shot at Jocelyn is just the best he could think of as an original “you will rue the day”, or if his patriarchal mindset is so engrained that he thinks he will still have parental authority over a foryt-something.

Buh-bye, Ronnie! I’d say it’s been nice knowing you, but I’m not that good a liar. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

All’s well that ends well, after all. Makes you wonder what next Westworld will face next year…

Phyllis and Ronald are getting 25 years in a possibly maximum security prison? It’s a Christmas miracle!!!

Okay, I don’t think Phyllis deserves 25 years, unless being clueless is considered a crime in Minnesota.

@Red Rain: I agree with everything you just commented. Including the part about Ronald dying of COVID and Jocelyn using her awesome auntie’s last name to distance herself from her rotten father.

    I love a happy ending.

Thank god. Its finally over. Jocelyn is finally free after all of this time. While part of me does pity Phyllis, she had so many chances to redeem herself and threw every one of them away. And Ronald, don’t drop the soap. Besides, by the time 2020 arrives, COVID will probably kill you anyways.

P.S.: Jocelyn should legally change her last name to Flynn once she turns 18 to distance herself from Ronald.

Knew this would end with Vicky getting custody of Jocelyn.

Part of me still hopes that Phyllis gets paroled and a redemption arc.

Ronald can get shanked in prison, though.

So long Ronald, you will not be missed.

Huh… so that IS Jocelyn’s real hair and not a wig… unless that IS a wig that she’s decided to keep on until the arc is over.

And, wow, Phyllis is going to jail as well? Granted, she did “support” her husband through all of this, though you’d think there would be defenders in the room stating that she was simply roped into this mess and had no clue about her forged signature for the camp nor did she know about the Nazi that helped Ron get a position of power.

Speaking of which, will he ever show back up, get discovered, and brought to justice?

    @Robotdick

    Strongly disagree with your statement.

I was there for the previous continuity, and remember the tone of said continuity.

@Taigan If this is a state-level case, peDonald couldn’t legally pardon squat.

Considering what year they’re let out, and how Ronny Boy doesn’t seem like the type of guy to get vaccinated or wear a mask, even if his sentence doesn’t get extended, he’d probably die of COVID…

Hate to tell you this, Taigan but Even Trump would be smart enough to keep Ronnie-boy in here longer!

So do you think they’ll be sharing a cell? Or might one of them be cellmates with Deb?

    December 1, 2025, 12:07 am | #

I’m not gonna lie, I was interested if Phyllis would stay around and have a redemption arc seeing how her relationship with Jocelyn saw just a tiny bit of improvement before this arc. Guess that’s dead in the water.

  34. Robotdick
    December 1, 2025, 12:06 am | #

Okay, ignoring the absurdity of everything going on in the strip, it’s shocking that Phyllis couldn’t even get redeemed in anyway. It feels like the crapsack nature of the original continuity is creeping back into this newer one.

    1) I’m pretty sure Ronald would get pardoned during the first Trump term.

    2) I’m not wild about DESERTSTORMER91 still running around free.

Huh… my prediction of being in jail for 25 years was spot on. Good. lol Also, Jocelyn will be 42 going on 43 by the time he gets out. She’ll be well into adulthood by this time anyway.

I hope Ron gets shanked before his sentence is up.

I’ll admit, I’m loving that Ronald wanting Phyllis to be completely subservient to him is just blowing up in his face right now 🤣

Also, that IS Jocelyn’s natural hair color? Nice to know!
