Why do I get the sinking feeling that this is going to end not with Ronald getting arrested and imprisoned like we all anticipate, but rather with him getting killed off for real? Reverend said he was beyond hope, so anything’s possible at this point.
Also, good grief, is Phyllis in SERIOUS denial. What’s it gonna take for her to snap? Maybe if Ronald accidentally let the incident at the previous rally slip out, saying he should have killed Jocelyn and her “miserable friends” when he had the chance, just to show how depraved he had gotten.
Ronald is a prime example of people that I’ve had issues with in Christianity for years. I refer to them as False Christians, because they don’t actually follow the teachings of Christ. They only use them to justify hate and use as a weapon to obtain power and force that hate on others. They have been too prevalent as of late, and were a violently vocal minority that wouldn’t go away in the 90s. I’m so weary of these people.
@bluediamond07 No, it’s just enough. It only takes a couple ounces of pressure to pierce the human body, and aiming at Phyllis’ throat can kill her instantly if struck in the right spot.
Speaking of Phyllis, she needs to get out of her stepford smiler phase right quick. He’s freaking threatening a murder suicide, dang it!
For those who think that Reverend Wilson hates Ronald, well Ronald is a member of his congregation who needs to be pulled from the weeds back into the fold. But that is a two person job where most of the work depends upon Ronald to first see what he’s doing and where he’s at right now.
Ronald has been going Pharisee for so long, he’d slap Jesus in the face for saying that He loves Jocelyn, and everyone else present. As well as Ronald, but then He would remind Ronald and how much easier it is for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into Heaven.
It’s kinda funny b/c I was thinking how it’s wild how we’ve seen the church they go to and their minister/reverend and that he seems like a fairly chill, down to earth guy. Like, all the stuff that Ronald is foaming at the mouth over, this man seems chill with (like, I don’t recall him having any issues with Jocelyn having all the piercings and dyed hair and tats). This man is going to church but god knows why cause he’d not hearing anything.
And lo and behold, said Minister actually showed up again!
Words cannot even begin to describe how long I’ve been waiting for the preacher to confront Ronald about how unChristian he really is. As a trying Christ follower myself, it was driving me crazy that it hadn’t happened yet, and now I can at least have the comfort in knowing how an actual Christian let Ronald know nobody’s going to Hell faster than he is.
Bit of a change in topic, here, but regarding Jocelyn’s look, especially in the previous strip; anyone else getting a Dorothy Wainwright vibe? Shame her hair isn’t closer to auburn though.
Just when I thought Ron’s done the most incorrigible thing he’s ever done, he turns around and does the most INCORRIGIBLE THING HE’S EVER DONE!! And, Phyl, for the love of David Koresh, WAKE THE *$%& UP, WILL YA?! He’d rather see you and him dead than give up his power!
Reverend Wilson has come to be a legitimate voice of reason here. And he has REALLY gone off the deep end to threaten his own wife with violence. Phyllis is going to need a LOT of therapy after this, too.

Ok, but that shiv is way too dull to stab someone with. Yeah, he’s desperate.
Okay then…Here’s my attempt at a strip prediction for this chapter…
Ronald: Any of you take one more step & my wife gets it.
Jocelyn: There’s no way you’re going to slit Phyllis’ throat because you clearly don’t have the guts to do so. Face it, Ronald! YOU’RE ALL TALK!!!
Vicky: Come on, Ronnie boy. Just put the makeshift weapon down & accept your punishment like a man.
Ronald: NEVER!!! I REFUSE TO GO DOWN ALONE!!!
(Ronald attempts to flee the scene with Phyllis as the human shield when Aaron, Joel & Steve block his way.)
Ronald: OUT OF MY WAY, YOU ASSASINS!!!
Steve: Not a chance in hell!
Aaron: Vicky has already called the police on your pathetic ass.
Joel: And if either of us were you, we’d surrender quietly.
It’s kinda funny b/c I was thinking how it’s wild how we’ve seen the church they go to and their minister/reverend and that he seems like a fairly chill, down to earth guy. Reverend Wilson is a national treasure.
@MattTEHMan1991 Ronald, definitely Ronald. Uncle Scar at least had a legitimate claim to the throne while I was in self-imposed exile.
At this point. I don’t know who’s more pathetic…Ronald or Scar..

The fact that even Jocelyn is concerned for Phyllis is telling. I’m anticipating Vicki pulling the Big Sister card and stepping in to stop Ronald.
And if I’m right, it’ll be glorious.
Snap, Phyllis. C’mon, you can do it.
I do have to wonder what contributed to Ronald’s unique mindset? Is/was he actually insane this whole time?
“I’m sure Ronald has a perfectly good reason to threaten me!”
So she’s AWARE she’s being threatened… and she’s just gonna accept it… brilliant. 🙄
OK, not QUITE what I predicted, but I got the “never take me alive” part right at least.
Also, Reverend Wilson continues to be awesome.
ALSO also, Mister Christian Zealot is literally threatening his own wife’s life with a broken crucifix. Talk about your heavy-handed symbolism, folks!
Reverend Wilson has come to be a legitimate voice of reason here. And he has REALLY gone off the deep end to threaten his own wife with violence. Phyllis is going to need a LOT of therapy after this, too.
Wow. The fact that even Reverend Wilson has come to hate Ronald shows how far Ronald has fallen. And that escalated quickly.
Reverend Wilson has finally told Ronald to fuck off, and he threatens to kill Phyllis as a last resource. Wonder how this will end.
Even Wilson lost his patience with the man. Phyllis has GOT to open her eyes at this point.
And this is only Monday’s strip?! Good lord!
What a piece of shit!
I think this is the first time we’ve seen Wilson in, like, a LONG time. Shocked he didn’t play a bigger role in this story arc.
