Maggie being the one who shot Mr. Burns was not only a great plot twist, it perfectly embodies The Simpsons role at the time of subverting conventions in the most hilarious way possible.

The major clue to Burns’ shooter is in the courtroom. When he says “You all talk big, but who has the guts to stop me,” everyone looks away except for Maggie. She’s staring right through Burns the whole time.
Is it a brick joke if I’m the one who made it? I had said weeks earlier that Aaron was no doubt gonna be pissed at who Burns’s shooter was.
