As a Gen-X that grew up in the 90s, yes. Sarcasm was the majority of our speech and logic, even when dealing with people in a serious tone. It’s why the 90s were so cynical.
Also, I honestly hope he gets it into his head what Michelle is saying. I’m already looking at him like he’s two steps away from being another Ronald. Let’s hope he takes a few more steps away from that.
Okay do they have to be sarcastic in every explanation? I know it’s the 90s and yeah Generation X and all but they don’t all have to do that while trying to keep the moral high ground. Also, yeah called it, Michelle guilt trips him.
Makes me wonder if they’d act the same way they did to Jenny before now that she’s going on about the paint on the walls of her room. Because if that “And I turned out okay” line’s any indication, I’m convinced they would act the same way as they did the Nintendo talk.
“Did we make a boo-boo?!”
Yes, although it’s not as bad as the one I want to give you via the brick upside the head!!! At least their smart enough to feel guilty about this.
Of course, the adults are in the wrong as usual. Even though Arthur shouldn’t have lashed out at Jenny, I was hoping he would be portrayed as a little sympathetic.
Sweetie, your list of boo-boos is longer than Santa’s naughty list. The fact that you refuse to spank Jenny is like you’re one redeemable trait so far.
“My parents talked like that to me, and I turned out okay…”

When the eldest daughter seems to do better parenting than the actual parents.
@Ghost I don’t think they’re at CPS levels to warrant a visit from them.

Is Michelle hiding a mocking smirk?
Seems like Michelle has some talent as a psychologist like Lars or Vicky, huh?
Arthur and Louise, in the word of Black Dynamite, You Done Fucked Up Now.

Funnily enough, I just got done watching “Coco”, which was partially about generational trauma XD
(“Coco” is a real good movie too, btw)
*”your,” not “you’re” -_-
Generational trauma strikes again
Get ‘em, Michelle!
“Oh cripes, did we make a boo-boo?”

That… explains a lot, actually.
You both deserve coal! And a visit from CPS!
