Also meh, I love both equally. They’re both long runners and childhood favorites and the first time to my knowledge the idea of separate continuities. Of course this was around the time the lore of the games were still in infancy but still…
SatAM/Archie Sonic’s had it rough. Unloved by Sega and much of the Sonic fandom is quick to shit on them for dating to not be like the games even though there were like 2 games with only 3 characters at the time.
First time those jerks (at least, one of them) were right about something: Knuckles has not been featured back then and Jenny and Eric only knew the franchise for the SatAM and the Archie Comics, with the latter still publishing several years after the SatAM cancellation.
However, the Sonic franchise has not been the only one to suffer from debates like these. EVERY franchise, from DC and Marvel to manga and anime, had suffered these kind of debates.
